Sydney Modern - Art Gallery of NSW

The Sydney Modern Project is a transformative expansion of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects SANAA. The new building features interlocking pavilions that follow the natural topography of the land and deliver much-needed exhibition space while respecting and enhancing public use of the surrounding landscape. The new building also includes art research and education spaces, multipurpose spaces, a gallery shop, food and beverage facilities, and visitor amenities. It has been designed to meet the evolving expectations of audiences for a 21st-century art museum, particularly accommodating future visitors, including students, teachers, and artists. The project has been awarded a 6-star Green Star design rating by the Green Building Council of Australia, setting a new standard for art museums globally.
