Project type
Hospital
Date
November 2013
Location
Camperdown, Sydney
The Chris O’Brien Lifehouse construction involved a multidisciplinary approach to building services, engineering, and design, focusing on creating a world-class cancer treatment and research center. The facility encompasses 9 aboveground storeys of clinical and research space, including MRI, PET imaging, 9 operating suites, intensive care unit, single bed ward rooms, ward and administration areas. The interior spaces are organized around a central atrium, with glass elevators connecting floors and providing glimpses of the facility's operations. The Lifehouse is a fully operational cancer hospital and serves both private and public patients, with all income reinvested for patient care.
